The SAP team

The international IT department of 160 people plays a prominent role in the company’s technological innovation. The company globally relies on SAP as its main business supporting IT solution. Around 50 SAP Consultants work on a daily basis improving and maintaining the system and developing new business applications.

As the company sees a number of challenges and opportunities in the area of procurement, logistics execution, transportation management, master data management, sourcing (Ariba) and supply chain, UNILIN-Mohawk wants to recruit an SAP MM Architect.

Position overview

The SAP MM Architect will coach the SAP Consultants, assist in the design and launch of new projects, translate business challenges into SAP solutions and develop and maintain an architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for the usage of SAP in his/her assigned area.

The SAP MM Architect reports to the SAP Director and to the Business Unit Architect, who both are members of the IT Management Team of UNILIN–Mohawk Flooring Rest of World division.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assume leadership over the SAP procurement/logistics/master data solutions and define the architectural guardrails for this area
  • Understand the business model, the needs of the business and translate this into SAP solutions; challenge the business managers to come to the right solution and focus on the business outcome
  • At the start of new projects: define the SAP MM architecture for the project and coach the Consultants when they start implementing the solution; be available as domain matter expert to give advice to the project teams when needed
  • Stay up to date with the new developments and innovations in the SAP offering; promote standard SAP solutions and ensure that the UNILIN-Mohawk architecture stays in line with the SAP future evolution
  • Work closely with the other SAP Architects and the Business Unit Architect to ensure consistency of the architecture company-wide
  • Work with newly acquired companies to integrate their architecture in the UNILIN-Mohawk model
  • Coach Junior Consultants


  • Master’s degree in business engineering, economics, logistics or IT; an MBA is a plus
  • 8-10 years of experience in SAP MM & Logistics modules in an international context; knowledge of SAP SD is a plus
  • Procurement, logistics and supply chain business acumen
  • Ability to influence operational Business Managers and Consultant teams towards standards and harmonization goals
  • Good communicator, with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate to different levels of the organization, with both IT and business people
  • Experience in working effectively with geographically diverse and multi-cultural teams
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SAP technologies
  • Knowledge of English and Dutch
