LuxSpace is active in the space industry and is operational since early 2006. Today it employs 50+ space professionals from 16 different countries and generates around € 18M revenue. It is located in Betzdorf in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the vicinity of some of the largest Luxembourg space companies.

LuxSpace is a fully owned subsidiary of OHB SE, one of the 3 leading space companies in Europe. LuxSpace combines engineering processes and knowledge gained over several decades by the space sector with innovative NewSpace approaches to offer its customers affordable, quick-to-market and reliable solutions. Its partners and customers are international agencies like ESA and the European Commission, national Governments and Institutions and a variety of commercial customers.

Triton-X, LuxSpace’s next-generation multi-mission microsatellite designed to enable affordable regional and global LEO (Low Earth Orbit) constellations, is the flagship of this new approach.

Position overview


Together with the Board of Directors and the OHB Group Management, the CEO will define the company’s strategy and execute that strategy by managing the day-to-day business operations. This includes leading the way in defining the future product portfolio of LuxSpace, leading all major commercial efforts, the strategic partnerships and the high-level management of the ongoing R&D and engineering projects.

The Key Performance Indicators will be: strategic market positioning, broadening the solution portfolio, revenue growth, profitability, client satisfaction and employee motivation and retention.


The CEO will report to the LuxSpace Board of Directors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Together with the OHB management, define the future company market strategy, product roadmap and the pricing strategy
  • Personally lead all strategic clients and partners relationship at C-level
  • Foster innovation and take initiatives to introduce new products and services that complement the current offering, get the support of the Luxembourg Space Agency or other sponsors and fuel the company's growth thanks to these new offerings
  • Lead the Management Team and make sure that all departments are aware of and work towards the main company goals
  • Further develop the relationship with government institutions in the space business (ESA, European Commission, Luxembourg Space Agency, ...)
  • Business development: prospect potential governmental and private sector clients
  • Steer the R&D and engineering strategy, support new product introduction and lead, at high level, the ongoing projects to ensure profitability, quality and timely delivery
  • Create a motivating work environment and a high-performance company culture for all employees; regularly communicate the company strategy and make sure that all employees contribute to the company goals


The ideal candidate will have general management experience with a track record in deploying a business strategy, business development, market strategy and product management and with the ability to create client demand and to direct all aspects of bringing products to international release.  The successful candidate is a leader experienced in leading-edge space technology. He/she can bring out the best in people.

  • A master’s in Engineering, Space Sciences or Business Administration
  • In-depth experience and an active network in the Luxembourg space industry
  • A general manager profile, having led a business unit or a mid-sized enterprise with P&L responsibility
  • Strong operational capabilities
  • Results-oriented, disciplined, detail-driven decision-maker able to work in a fast-paced and energetic environment
  • Experience in an international context
  • Understands the role of government institutions in the space area at European as well as national level
  • Focused on P&L and profitability
  • Strong relationship building skills with global customers at CEO- and C-level
  • Good in motivating and coaching managers and engineers using a balanced management style of empowerment and control
  • In-depth project /program management skills

Fluent in English and preferably Luxembourgish and one or more other European languages
The position is based in Betzdorf, 30 km North-East of the city of Luxembourg
Willing to travel from time to time
