The company

Antwerp Space, a member of the OHB AG Group and belonging to OHB's Space Systems business unit, develops systems, which initially accommodated the growing needs of the European space program and have found application in a broad range of commercial space applications worldwide. Antwerp Space provides expertise and system solutions for broadband access systems via satellites, satellite ground control stations for spacecraft control and reception of data from earth observation satellites and test systems used during the integration of spacecraft. 
Antwerp Space is based in Hoboken, Belgium and currently employs around 70 people whereas the group counts more than 2400 employees in Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxemburg & Sweden.

Role & Responsabilities

The Business Development Manager is an intrical part of Antwerp Space’s continued growth and success. You build solid long-term relationships with ESA and with partner companies in order to contribute to European satellite communications projects.

You help growing Antwerp Space’s business by;
  • Identifying, developing and maintaining operational relations with key accounts (ESA, OHB, TAS, ADS)
  • Identifying business development opportunities within selected institutional & [commercial] programs
  • Defining the positioning strategy and salient factors to raise the chances of success with the support of the company management.
  • Negotiating with industrial partners concerning their participation to team up for future activities
  • Supporting the establishment of the goals & strategy of Antwerp Space.
  • Being responsible to meet your yearly sales targets


  • You have a master's degree or PhD in engineering sciences in the field of electronics, telecommunications or space engineering.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Space industry
  • You have experience in business development, knowledge of key accounts organisation, and international networking
  • You have experience in Antwerp Space’s activity domains (communication, RF equipment & instruments) or a similar field
  • You have good communication skills and you are fluent in English.
  • You are capable to capture and understand, through dialogue with customers, the User needs and to translate them into realistic business opportunities for Antwerp Space.
  • You are well organised (maintaining overview / coordination/ being able to distinguish important from less important matters).
  • You have strong analytical and synthetic capacities.
  • You are autonomous, responsible and enterprising, trustworthy
  • You are open for frequent traveling in Europe
