The Company


Our client is a new start-up, part of a leading european spatial group. One company of the group developed an innovative payload concept for monitoring vessel traffic which has high potential to generate major revenues in the maritime safety & security sector

 

The Position


To realize this vision, the group is looking for a dedicated individual who can convincingly represent the role of a CEO, take the lead in the further development of the business model, execute the fund raising outside the group and lead the business.

  • Vision & Mission:
    • Together with the group management, define the future vision and the overall strategy of the company from development to market entry to scale
    • Define and complete the funding round needed to launch the initial service
  • Finance:
    • Lead and develop all strategic clients and partners relationship with government institutions in the space business (ESA, European Commission, Luxembourg Space Agency, ...) and the maritime domain.
    • Attract new investors and get the support from governmental institutions to fuel the company's growth
    • Owning the operational budget and managing burn rate
    • Managing competition and threats in the marketplace, with constant evaluation of the financial structure, capital strategy and strategic objectives
    • Represent the start-up to customers, partners, investors and the public with high level professionalism and persuasiveness
    • Prospect potential governmental and private sector clients with the support of the Business Development department
  • Governance
    • Build and lead the Team and make sure that all departments are aware of and work towards the main company goals
    • Create a motivating work environment and a high-performance company culture for all employees
    • Regularly communicate the company strategy and make sure that all employees contribute to the company goal

Qualifications

 

The ideal candidate will be a tech entrepreneur and mentor with love and passion for space or maritime:

  • True founder mindset; hands-on, driven, resilient with experience in founder successful startups
  • Customer centric business mindset and proven experience in fund raising
  • Proven experience in building successful managing tech teams and the ability to work in a multinational project team
  • Understanding the interconnections between business strategy, market reality and technological and system design choices
  • Great communication skills
  • Quality people management skills
  • Willing to lead a business based in Luxembourg
  • Fluency in English
  • EU citizen or LU work permit mandatory
